Man City and Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement for Kyle Walker — Man City

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker has agreed to join the German club Bayern Munich, reported Sky Sports Germany on Friday.

Walker, 33, has communicated his decision to Bayern officials about joining the club this summer. The negotiations between the two clubs will soon take place.

The 33-year-old joined Man City in 2017 from Tottenham Hotspurs and became one of the key players of Pep Guardiola’s system as the Englishman helped his side win five Premier League (PL) titles in six years and, recently, the most-awaited UEFA Champions League (UCL) title in Istanbul.

It has to be mentioned that Walker declined all the rumours about him joining the German club last month but he has now changed his mind and is ready to take on the new challenge at the age of 33.

Walker’s arrival at the German club will open the doors for the French full-back Benjamin Pavard, who has expressed his desire to leave the Bavarian club in the past few weeks. His contract expires in 2024.

A number of clubs including Manchester United, Man City, FC Barcelona and the UCL runner-ups Inter Milan are interested in the 2018 World Cup winner’s services.

Walker is considered one of the best full-backs in the world. Especially his ability to defend the best forwards in one vs one situation.

Man City are also after Barca’s midfielder Frenkie de Jong and could make a shock €90m move for the Dutch footballer, it was reported by The Sun earlier this month.

City have already lost their captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barca, despite signing Kovacic last week, the treble winners are not satisfied with their midfield as Bernardo Silva may as well leave the club.

De Jong, 26, turned down an €85 million offer from Manchester United last year, denying the chance to play under his former manager Erik Ten Hag.

De Jong had been on the radar of Man United for a long time but they were never in a firm position to land the midfielder. However, the interest from the 20-time Premier League (PL) winners finally came to an end after signing the Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount on a €60m deal.
